Your torrent program will run a hash check no, this has nothing to do with weed against the existing files. Any files that are the same as before will be left alone.
Only the "incorrect" files ie: updated files from 0. Torrent uses hash checking to "heal" files. Simply just point to the same download location every time, and only the changed files will be downloaded. Easy as that! BitTorrent will check it, and only download the bits you are missing. DHT is not a good thing for ratio sites, enabling it skips the tracker to certain clients from what i've been told as a result screws up your figures. They dont use miscellaneous trackers setup on geocities accounts ;.
I share my account with another bloke, he leeches over http and I use nntp as they split the usage between the two protocols which works out well. One thing to remember about the torrents at pleasuredome is that all the roms have been torrentzipped - which gives them the same hash code regardless of the OS. If you have a full set of roms from elsewhere retroroms and then decide to use pleasuredome to update you may find that it will download the whole thing again.
