Adamcarter You can use a tool on Windows like 7Zip to extract the root. The image will extract to 3 files, then you can extract the root. If the U-Boot bootloader becomes corrupted, it can be recovered Recover Bootloader.
If the firmware has become unresponsive and won't boot, chances are you can recover it easily due to the Dual Firmware partition layout, by switching to the alternate firmware.
For this reason, it is recommended to always keep at least one known good version of the firmware on either partition. Switch router from primary to alternate partition or vice versa using any of the 4 below methods:. Explanation: There is a counter of boot attempts. The counter is increased early at the start of each boot process. And the the counter is reset to 0 at the end of a successful boot. Note that there is no guarantee that the other partition works.

Ever since I got it in my hands last December and have ultimately come to a conclusion that I think the WRT32X is not open-source ready just yet. I do have a WRT32X at hand, using the 19 Jan builds that were released by BrainSlayer, installing via the serial, terminal and website had resulted me in many issues unless I have been doing it wrongly this whole entire time and I managed to get it running the stock FW back again. I certainly don't blame BrainSlayer at all, he's done a great job to be honest.
Lies and not being transparent and having a bad technical support just gives me a bad impression of Linksys. Sorry about the rant and I know this comment ain't useful either. So, here comes another rant. But I had just a few problems with it too.
