We've finally made it to the main area of the software. Here, be able to do all of the controlling of other desktops, or allow others to access yours. On the left side of the interface you'll see the different functions available to you. The Remote Control tab is where you'll go when you want to be the one granted access to another single computer. Your ID is specific to your device, and right under that you'll see a password. This information is not static - it will change for every session that you start for your safety.
To the right of that you'll see "Remote Control Computer", which is where you'll enter the ID of the desktop that you're trying to access. Before entering that ID, choose what type of activity that you'll be doing - whether you just want to be able to click around and view the other computer and what is on it, or if you want to be able to transfer different types of files during the session.
Once you enter your partner's ID, another window will appear asking for their password. This is a great function to have, and guarantees that users can't just access other computers whenever they'd like without permission. At this point, your TeamViewer window will reflect what is shown on the partner computer's desktop and you can control and view pretty much everything. There are a few different options that you have for alternatives out there, depending on what you're looking for.
If you'd like to have software available to a team of people, we would recommend Goverlan Reach. The software is secure, with encrypted channels for all involved devices, and it offers a lot of the same features as TeamViewer. The main difference is that the interface might be a little confusing to those who aren't familiar with remote sharing software. A new window should open automatically and begin a connection attempt. You should see the desktop of the remote device as soon as the connection is stable.
There should also be a small blue-and-white box in the lower right-hand corner of your screen. Please note that you need to have Teamviewer installed on both systems in order to access and control the remote system. Open the File Transfer browser. At the top of the window should be a series of options available to you in a grayish bar.
This will open the File Transfer browser. The File Transfer browser should now be open in the middle of your page. On the left-hand side of the window you are going to see all the files and folder located on your current device. On the right-hand side will be the files located on the remote device. Select which device to transfer files to and from. As you scroll through each device, you are setting a download location for the files you are going to download, so if you are trying to transfer a file from the remote device to your current one, you should browse through and find the remote file using the right-hand side of the File Transfer browser.
Transfer files. Now browse through and open a location using the left-hand side of the File Transfer browser. When you have located the file s you are looking for, simply drag and drop the file to the opposite side. There should be a file transfer animation box that opens.
In order to place a file on the remote system, simply reverse the process of the selecting windows and drag-and-dropping to the correct window. Method 2. The smaller window on the right will be the one used to log into your Teamviewer account. You should see a list of available devices inside the same window after logging in. Open the File Box.
